Besonderheiten:
Lebt in mäßig bis schnell fließenden Gewässern, die voll sind mit Steinen und sandigem Bodengrund.
Die Art unterscheidet sich von den anderen Arten der Gattung unter anderen durch den breiten, kurzen Kopf und eine stark ausgeprägte postdorsale Furche, die beispielsweise bei der Typusart Pareiorhina rudolphi fehlt.
